Buds and Banter Bulletin

May 2023

Hello, talented friends of mine!

Y’all showed up and showed out at our April meeting. ??
Looking out across the room at all your beautiful floral arrangements was a feast for the eyes! The color, the smiles, the sharing and laughter fed our soul! God truly blessed us with the quick turn around for our meeting. For those that don’t know, we were notified at 10 AM the day before our meeting that Winn Dixie would not be able to attend our program. Within 10 minutes the Mayor of Freeport’s name was brought up, (that’s a whole other story) a call was made and by 1:00, Russ Barley, with Emerald Coast Flowers and Gifts said Yes to our Mess! ??❤️ What a gift he was! Plus he had done a program for us years ago! Russ let us know quickly that even the simplest of arrangements needs structure. Good news for us, he’s coming back for a more in-depth floral design class! We’ll keep you posted!

It’s hard to believe our final meeting for this club year will be on May 24th! We are going out in style! ??
Petals, Pearls and Prosecco is a celebration of excellence for all of us! We will have the opportunity to award the GTGC Mercer scholarship to a hard working senior(s), and we’ll make the lives of Walton County children very happy with summer camps at 4-H and Camp Longleaf at the Biophilia Center. We will also reinstate our current GTGC board members for another year! Thank you ladies for staying on! ❤️
So don your hats and pearls, bring your friends and celebrate yourselves for just being You! I love y’all so much!

Where May will be our final meeting of the club year, our 1st Summer Social will be on Monday, June 5th, at 9 AM! In recognition of National Garden Week we will Plant the Park! For those of you who may not know, our club won a grant from FFGC last year and we have 2 garden areas at Legion Park in Miramar Beach! Come on out and help us get them ready for Summer! Keep your eyes open for a Punchbowl invitation.
There are so many exciting things coming up! Make sure you read the District 1 newsletter. We are not the only busy garden club in the area!

In closing, it has been my absolute pleasure to serve as your President this year and I look forward to next year! Happy Mothers Day to all you fabulous women and remember…..

We Never Walk Alone!
Lori
