Green Thumb Garden Club is Offering Scholarships to Students from Walton County, Florida

For over four decades, Green Thumb Garden Club has awarded Mercer Scholarships to college students from Walton County. Students must be currently enrolled or must have been accepted by a college, university, or technical school with a major in agriculture, biology, botany, ecology, environmental studies, forestry, horticulture, landscape design or an acceptable related course.

The scholarship amount has been increased for 2024 through generous donations from GTGC members, fund raising events and the Walton County community. A total of $4,000. is available for award. The amount of each scholarship will be based upon applicants’ qualifications. Detailed application requirements and forms are available on the GTGC website, www.greenthumbgardenclubinc.org.

The scholarship is for tuition only and paid directly to the college, university, or technical school. The winner will be requested to make a presentation at the award ceremony for the scholarship in May 2024.

The Green Thumb Garden Club, Inc., located in Walton County, Florida, is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission is to stimulate interest in the beautification of Walton County, furthering the education of its members and the public in botany, community beautification, conservation of natural resources, environmental awareness, floral design, gardening, horticulture, and nature studies and instill in our youth the love of gardening and respect for the environment.
