July 2024

Garden Club Friends,

We trust you all had a wonderful 4th of July. Should we have a count down to Labor Day? The traffic, guests and heat are the talk of the town. Our gardens and plants are loving rain and the flowers are beautiful everywhere. Don’t forget to visit the beach as it never disappoints even for just a peak or a long walk. Your Board met to fine tune the below calendar of events, including our largest, with the Bazaar in October and Laura Dowling next year. We hope all of our members will get involved in those. A recent recognition goes out to Betsy Stout-Jones for her Mother’s Day Jewelry Donation to Brookdale Senior Living. Our members are so generous, which meets our mission at every turn.

Mark your calendars!

9 am meet to carpool.
Our first meeting and lunch will be at Horse Power Pavilion, Freeport, followed by a tour of Westonwood Ranch just across the street. Westonwood’s program transitions teens and young adults with Intellectual anyone Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to discover their potential to live independent productive lives. You will be especially interested in their Aquaponics farm. Lindy Wood, Founder, will tell her story and vision of Westonwood. You are sure to be touched with this wonderful resource in Walton County.
